It includes features powered by Microsoft Copilot (part of Microsoft 365) and other AI tools like Ideas, Data Types, Natural Language Queries, and Power Query AI.

  1. Microsoft Copilot in Excel (AI Assistant)
    • Copilot uses GPT-based AI to help write formulas, generate summaries, create charts, and answer questions about your data.
    • Example: Type a prompt like "Summarize the sales trends for Q2" and Copilot will analyze and present the data.
  2. Ideas (Analyze Data Tool)
    • Located in the Home tab.
    • Automatically analyzes your dataset to provide trends, outliers, and visual summaries.
    • It suggests pivot tables, charts, and insights.
  3. Natural Language Queries
    • Allows you to ask questions in plain English.
    • Example: "What was the total revenue in May?" and Excel AI will compute and display the result.
  4. Data Types Powered by Wolfram Alpha
    • AI-enhanced data types (e.g., Stock, Geography, Chemistry, etc.) enrich cells with linked information.
    • You can pull facts and calculations directly from online data sources.
  5. Power Query & Power BI Integration
    • Excel can use AI insights from Power BI, such as anomaly detection and natural language Q&A.
    • Power Query also has AI-driven data classification and transformation capabilities.
  6. Formula Suggestions
    • Excel AI suggests formulas as you type based on your data patterns.
    • Similar to auto-complete but context-aware.
